Office Policies
In order to make your experience at Internal Medicine and Pediatric Associates as efficient and effective as possible, the following are some basic policies of our Office:
Office Policies
  • Appointments – To make an appointment, simply call our office during business hours: 241-6567. We offer a wide range of appointment times, including lunch hour, evenings and Saturday morning options. Please be advised that you may be charged a $45 fee in the event that an appointment is not cancelled after it’s made.
  • Telephone Calls – Our Staff is well-trained and able to answer many of your questions. Any medical issues that are dealt with over the phone will be reviewed by our Doctors to ensure accuracy. Please be aware that, due to our Doctor’s staggered hours, a message left late today may not be answered for up to 24 hours.
  • Emergencies – If you are an established patient of ours, and have an after-hours emergency, you can always contact our office at 241-6567. Our on-call physician will return your call and help you decide on a course of action.
  • Pre-Authorizations – A prior authorization is a form that insurance companies require from a patient when a denial of payment for a medication prescribed by one’s physician occurs. Prior-authorizations are very time-involved and usually have nothing to do with the effectiveness of the prescribed medicine. Rather, the denial is based on the medicine being “non-preferred” according to the insurance company, and has nothing to do with what your physician feels is in your best interest. If it is determined that a prior-authorization is needed, there is a fee of $25 charged at the time of service. For more information regarding our policy on Prior Authorizations, please click here.
  • Refill Requests – Please remember to bring a medicine list to your appointment, so that our Doctors can fill any necessary prescriptions at that time. If you have a refill request in between appointments, please contact your pharmacy; they will fax us your request. If your request is denied, please make an appointment at your earliest convenience.
